Courtenay is a beautiful municipality located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. With a population of 28,420, Courtenay is the largest city in the Comox Valley. The city is home to many parks and trails, as well as the famous Courtenay Riverwalk. Courtenay is also a great place to shop, with many unique boutiques and stores. Thousands of years ago, Courtney, was a Coast Salish fishing settlement. Being an island town the climate in Courtney is similar to the rest of Vancouver Island. As those supplies have dwindled over time, the city has focused it economic energy in supplying services to retiree communities and military families. CFB, a Royal Canadian Air Force Base, is the largest employer in the area. Courtney has lots to offer their residence in the form of community events and togetherness. Every summer you can enjoy their three-day live music festival, year round recreationally activities, an extraordinary experience bird watching, fishing, hiking , biking and much more.
