Welcome to Fraser Lake, a beautiful municipality located in the Bulkley-Nechako region of British Columbia. With a population of just over 960 people, Fraser Lake is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. The municipality covers an area of 4.06 square kilometers and is home to a variety of businesses and amenities. The town is full of fisherman and outdoor enthusiast who enjoy one the provinces biggest lakes just up the road. A small town and lots of natural wilderness around, means the town folks get well used to seeing wildlife in their day to day business. Animals like moose, bears, deer, coyotes, elk, caribou, wolves, sheep and mountain goats still roam free. Try your hand at fly-fishing in the world famous, Stellakop River or take a hike on Mouse Mountain. There are numerous hunting and fishing lodges in the area. A common tour attraction is the Kenny Dam and Cheslatta Falls. The dam was constructed in the 1950's and at that time it was the largest rock filled dam in the world. The dam is 1,500 feet long, 317 feet high, and 40 feet across. The material used to make the dam would equal a line of 12 yard dump trucks all the way from Vancouver to Halifax. Amazing!
