Visit Kent, a beautiful municipality located in the Fraser Valley region of British Columbia. With a population of 6300, Kent is the perfect size for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. Kent's growth was initiated by the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush, then the Hudson's bay Company fur traders did business with locals. Commercial business rapidly grew when boast started to routinely stop in the area. In 1895 the town was incorporated, shortly after the railway made it's way to Kent. During that busy time, hops were am important crop to many farmers. In 1948 the Fraser River flood took out everyone's crop of hops leaving them to unexpectedly benefit from the corn growing markets. The town's economy has now shifted from agriculture to tourism and recreation. Harrison Hot Springs brings many visitors to the Kent / Agassiz area. Because of the town agricultural past, it has been underdeveloped compared to its neighbors of Vancouver. Leaving a beautiful vast space to explore nature and the wilderness. Hiking, kayaking, camping are all popular activities in the area. Try geocaching and take your furry friends to the off leash dog park. Make sure to stop downtown for a bite to eat and a drink of choice. Lots of restaurants to choose from like a local cafe or a sushi restaurant.
