The municipality of Oliver is located in the Okanagan-Similkameen region of British Columbia. The municipality has a population of 5094 and an area of 5.49 Km². The area first saw European settlers around 1811 when fur traders came to the area. The late 1800s saw gold mining and merchants and the first public transportation system. Today Oliver is known as Canada's Wine Capital with 50% of all wines grapes in BC are grown here. Small family estates to large wineries, Oliver has a plethora of wineries to visit.
