Port Moody

Located in Metro Vancouver, Port Moody is a beautiful municipality that is perfect for those who want to enjoy the outdoors. Port Moody is the smallest f the Tri-Cities, with Coquitlam on the east and south and Burnaby on the west. The town is names after the first lieutenant Governor of the Colony of British Columbia, Richard Clement Moody. The railroad reached Port Moody in 1859 and the town rapidly grew. Today the main industry sector is provided by a deep-sea bulk loading terminal, two petrochemical distribution operations, a large wood products manufacturer and a thermal electric generating station. The town has shifted in recent years to focus more on the arts and culture sector. The city hosts many festivals and events annually showcasing local artists and musicians. Port Moody is conveniently located on the Burrard Inlet, which is a great sport for many boating activities like kayaking, sailing, and paddle boarding. From hiking and biking trails to kayaking and fishing, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Port Moody.
