Trail is a beautiful municipality located in the Kootenay Boundary region of British Columbia. With a population of just over 7920 people, it's the perfect place to enjoy all the province has to offer. In 1890 discovery of gold/copper ore on Red Mountain brought excitement and new energy to the otherwise untouched land. By 1912 Trail had a brand new brick school, and a bridge was constructed across the Columbia River. Today mining and natural resources is still a main economic factor in the diverse town. Trail has a great aquatic centre, ice arena where the Trail Smoke Eaters play (a Junior A hockey team), field house, public library and two elementary schools and one high school. Known as the Columbia River Skywalk, a 1,000 ft suspension bridge connects Rotary Park West Trail to McQuarrie St east Trail. It is one of the largest bridge of it's kind in North America.
