West Vancouver is a world-class municipality located in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. With a population of 44,122, it is a growing community with something for everyone. The District of West Vancouver stretches 28 kilometres of shoreline along the Hollyburn Ridge and once was mainly a holiday destination area or an area residents of Vancouver would picnic on or a place to get away from the city. From 1945 - 1975 West Vancouver was an epicentre of innovative residential design that has become known as "West Coast Style". Average income levels are higher and the population of retired households has grown compared to the city of Vancouver. Residents here place high value on a natural setting, beaches, forest, ski slopes golf courses and a very recreational life style. West Vancouver has an art museum, photo galleries, and public art in many places throughout the community.
