Williams Lake

Williams Lake is located in the Cariboo region of British Columbia and has a population of 10947. The area is 33.12 Km². Williams Lake has a population of over 11,000 residents and a vibrant community who is supported by the forestry, logging, sawmilling, mining and ranching industries. In the 1800s the area around Williams Lake was occupied by the gold rush movement and fur trading. Today the community has a movie theatre, virtual reality lounge, recreation complex, curling rink, arts centre and lots of outdoor recreation. Mountain biking has become very popular and Williams Lake has a large network of trails for all ability levels. A major attraction in Williams Lake is the William's Lake Stampede, a stampede that has been going strong for 95 years. Wow! They refer to it as the "wildest show of the rocks". Williams lake also has a golf course, and disc golf course. This area experiences a humid continental climate with warm summers and winter can see a lot of precipitation. Skiing at Mount Timothy is a popular activity for the locals. The family friendly ski resort has been locally owned and operated since 1988. Williams Lake is a great place to live with plenty of amenities and recreation opportunities.
